UK Agriculture Bill

The Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee is currently considering the Legislative Consent Memorandum for, and the Welsh provisions in, the UK Government’s Agriculture Bill. The Welsh provisions in the Bill (set out in Schedule 3) provide powers for the Welsh Ministers, amongst other things, to provide financial support to the agricultural sector following the UK’s departure from the European Union. It also provides powers to phase out and eventually end direct payments, and to introduce a new system of support for the sector.
