Purpose:
Assembly
Members (AMs) may ask Oral Assembly Questions to the First Minister about any
matter falling within their areas of responsibility.
The
First Minister answers questions each week. Oral questions are answered during
a designated Question Time in Plenary. Once
every four sitting weeks the item will be scheduled for 60 minutes and the
Deputy Minister and Chief Whip will answer questions for the last 15 minutes of
this session on matters relating to her responsibilities.
The
Presiding Officer conducts a ballot to determine the names of Members who may
table questions. Each Member may enter their name into a ballot.
The
Member selected must then table their oral question at least five days before
the question is due to be answered. A computer randomly selects the order in
which the questions are to be asked in Plenary.

First Minister after question 2.
