the law already protects children from violence. It is bizzare to describe a loving smack as violence. Who is to implement such a bill? Police and social workers have enough to do already. They could be over-whelmed with trivial reports.

As above - criminalise parents Discipline is essential to bring up a happy and responsible child.

I smacked my children on a very few occasions. I would explain why I had to do this and that it upset me to have to do this.
