I believe that reasonable chastisement should be retained for parents. Nobody wishes children to be physically harmed but we live in a very harsh world and children need to understand that if they choose to go down a certain path then their parents retain the right to physically punish.

Parenting classes and better discipline meted out by schools, police and various other sources along N’Golo with children being taught what is right and wrong should negate the need for legislation. I do not believe that legislation will stop children being excessively disciplined but will lead to many very good well intentioned parents being criminalised.
