I do not like prescriptive government. I feel that taking all powers away from the people is a dangerous way forward. It will be in 20 years time when there has been no parental input, children who are not disciplined at all that things will be worse than they are now. Currently, we have 12 yr olds and upwards on the streets bullying people who are vulnerable, the police cannot do anything etc, they are left to go out and get on with their young lives because parents can't control behaviour. Schools and police no longer are able to control young people and bad behaviour just gets exclusions - again young people being left to bring themselves up.

Welsh Government, in my opinion, should put all its efforts into finding those parents who batter their children, not those parents who are responsible, caring and interested in enabling their children to make good decisions, be responsible and be good citizens. Making all these blanket laws which affect well-meaning and innocent people more than they ever get to the root of a problem is meaningless and dangerous. Those violent people will just continue to be the same, so these new laws will do nothing to prevent the main problem.

People who tend to violence, and by this I don't mean chastisement, will be violent anyway so I see no benefit from bringing this Bill

You will not find an animal in the world that does not chastise its young to keep them safe. Currently, the human race is in self destruct, and planet destruct, we must be doing something wrong and I think that is that we are not teaching our young to respect themselves, each other and the wider world. Teaching these basic principles at an early stage is vital for the continuation of the human race and the planet. We need to be thinking years ahead, not in the short term.
